It was spectacular! The moon started to look like someone was taking small bites out of it, and then it turned red for a while, and later-completely black, then it started to illuminate again, as the Earth started to lift it's shadow off of the moon, it gradually gained its glow and had a round colorful shadow around it, until it was silver again. It took couple of hours, but it was worth it. I had other spectators with me, but soon they resigned, leaving me alone with the sounds of singing bird, the helicopter, the ambulance in the distance and the train almost a mile away, but it was heard in the middle of the night. The April 14-15, 2012 Lunar Eclipse is the first of the 4 consecutive Lunar Eclipses that are going to continue every 6 months; in September 2014, then in April 8th of 2015, and so forth. This April 14-15, 2012 Lunar Eclipse at 9:53 PDT and had 12 stages in circumstances of the total lunar eclipse at 9:53PM, 10:39PM, 10:58PM, 11:49PM, 12:01AM, 12:06AM, 12:45AM, 1:24AM, 1:41AM, 2:33AM, 2:53AM, and ended at 3:37AM. It was mesmerizing and very relaxing to watch.
